Jose of JRMK Construction created a charming and livable studio apartment in a small garage space in my backyard. The details of the space include a pitched roof, an entry door in the side that faces the driveway and a 36 x 36" window facing the garden.

The apartment includes a kitchen wall with a two burner electric stovetop, a sink and countertop and an upright refrigerator. There are open shelves above the counter and cupboards below. For additional light there is a skylight and along with the glass entry door, the space is well lit even without turning on the lights.

The bathroom has a beautifully tiled shower, corner toilet and small sink. Jose did all the design and much of the charm in the studio is a result of solving the problems inherent in a small space by utilizing every inch available. Added interest comes from roughhewn roof beams and baseboards and built-in wooden shelves. As always, everything that Jose does is done carefully and beautifully. And of course he and his crew always left the area spic and span, with tools put away and doors locked. I can't say enough about Jose as an artist and craftsman in all he does.
